In order to celebrate annual “International Museum Day” on 18th of May which is founded by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Tung Sin Tong Historical Archive Exhibition Hall (hereinafter called the ‘Exhibition Hall’) is going to participate in “Macao International Museum Day Carnival, 2019” on 12th of May (Sunday), and also launch a series of celebration activities in May. We are looking forward to your participation.
Tung Sin Tong is one of the most historical charities in Macau. The headquarter located in the region of Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, which is nearby Praia Grande, witnesses the Macau charity services development, and also symbolizes Macau charity culture. Therefore, in respond to the theme “The Mobile Museum－Praia Grande x Cultural Hub” of Macao International Museum Day in this year, the Exhibition Hall is going to organize “Tung Sin Tong Aquabeads Decoration Workshop” during 14:00-17:00 on 12th of May. In the workshop, participants can utilize aquabeads to create a decoration according to the features of Tung Sin Tong headquarter building.
Beside of the celebration activities taken place at the carnival, the Exhibition Hall will host other two activities named “Open Day of the Historical Relic Gallery” and “Tung Sin Tong Mosaic Candle Cup Workshop” in May. On 18th of May (Saturday), the Exhibition Hall will divide the visiting hours of the Historical Relic Gallery into four sections: 10:30-11:00, 11:30-12:00, 15:30-16:00 and 16:30-17:00. The Exhibition Hall will also provide docent service through which visitors can appreciate the precious large-scale cultural relics and historic archives. Moreover, for the preservation of the 95-year-old historic architecture, the number of visitors would be limited. Furthermore, during “Tung Sin Tong Mosaic Candle Cup Workshop” held at 15:00 on 26th of May (Sunday), the participants will be taught to create a transparent mosaic candle cup according to the design of the colourful windows in Tung Sin Tong, so that the participants can acquaint the architecture style and history of the headquarter building.
