In order to celebrate annual “International Museum Day” on 18th of May which is founded by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Tung Sin Tong Historical Archive Exhibition Hall (hereinafter called the ‘Exhibition Hall’) is going to participate in “Macao International Museum Day Carnival, 2021” on 9th of May (Sunday), and also launch a series of celebration activities in May. We are looking forward to your participation.

In respond to the theme "The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine" of Macao International Museum Day in this year, the Exhibition Hall will use the theme of "Reimagine" as the workshop concept. In “Tung Sin Tong Mosaic Music Box Workshop” held in Macao Science Centre at 14:30-17:30 on 9th of May (Sunday), participants will reimagine and design a mosaic spinning music box base for Tung Sin Tong’s tea barrel model, the new image of which demonstrates the free tea service in the past and Tung Sing Tong’s charitable service spirit of treating everyone with kindness.

Beside of the celebration activities taken place at the carnival, the Exhibition Hall will host other two activities named “Open Day of the Historical Relic Gallery” and “Tung Sin Tong Rattan Hanging Ornament Workshop” at Tung Sin Tong Historical Archive Exhibition Hall (Rua de Camilo Pessanha, No.55) in May. 16th of May (Sunday) is the “Open Day of the Historical Relic Gallery” held in the Exhibition Hall. In order to protect the 97-year-old historic architecture, the Exhibition Hall will divide the visiting hours of the Historical Relic Gallery into four sections: 10:30-11:00, 11:30-12:00, 15:30-16:00 and 16:30-17:00. The visitors’ numbers of each section will be limited and there will provide students and staffs on-site docent service, through which visitors can appreciate the precious large-scale cultural relics and historic archives. Furthermore, during “Tung Sin Tong Rattan Hanging Ornament Workshop” held in the Exhibition Hall at 15:00 on 23rd of May (Sunday), the participants will be taught to use rattan materials to weave the outer cover of hanging ornament, and then use a rope to cross through the rattan cover and tie a knot to make a rattan hanging ornament so that the participants can not only learn rattan weaving technology, but also learn about one of the subjects of Tong Sin Tong's early free education - "weaving rattan basket", and learn about the development history of free education.
