In order to celebrate annual “International Museum Day” on 18th of May which is set up by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Tung Sin Tong Historical Archive Exhibition Hall will participate in the activities of “Macao International Museum Day Carnival, 2018” and launch a series of celebration activities in May. We are looking forward to your participation in the above series of activities.
In this year, Tung Sin Tong Chinese medicine clinic Taipa branch and Chinese pharmacy Taipa branch are going to be inaugurated so that the medical service will be extended to Taipa community. In response to the theme “The Mobile Museum-Taipa Houses x Taipa Story” of Macao International Museum Day in this year, the Exhibition Hall will organize “Tung Sin Tong Playmais Workshop” during 14:00-17:00 on that day. In the workshop, participants can use Playmais (a grainy clay made by corn) to create a model of Tung Sin Tong Chinese Pharmacy building which is one of the iconic Tung Sin Tong buildings.
Beside of the celebration activities taken place at the carnival, the Exhibition Hall will host other 2 activities named “Open Day of the Historical Relic Gallery” and “Tung Sin Tong Headquarter Model Workshop” in May. On 18th of May (Friday), the Exhibition Hall will divide the visiting hours of the Historical Relic Gallery into 4 sections: 10:30-11:00, 11:30-12:00, 15:30-16:00 and 16:30-17:00. Moreover, for the preservation of the 94-year-old historic architecture, the number of visitors would be limited. The Exhibition Hall will also provide docent service through which visitors can view and admire the precious large-scale cultural relics and historic archives. Furthermore, during “Tung Sin Tong Headquarter Model Workshop” held at 15:00 on 27th of May (Sunday), the participants will be taught to build a Tung Sin Tong headquarter by using Lego toy bricks, through which the participants could acquaint the architecture features and the history of Tung Sin Tong.
The above activities are free of charge. Registration is served on a first come, first served basis. Please feel free to enquire and sign up at the Exhibition Hall reception (address: Rua de Camilo Pessanha No. 55, Macau) or by calling 2838 9773 during office hours.
